Nepali nationals to be evacuated from coronavirus-hit China's Hubei province, embassy issues travel notice

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: The Nepal government has started process to evacuate Nepali nationals currently living in China's Hubei province.


In a notice, Nepal Embassy in Beijing urged the Nepali nationals living in Hubei Province to fill up the travel form before 9 am on Sunday those who are willing to go back to home.


"In the context of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China, the Government of Nepal has decided to evacuate Nepali nationals currently residing in the Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China. The plans for a special chartered flight are being worked out, and details will be shared as soon as they are available," the embassy stated.

In view of the above, all Nepali nationals currently residing in Hubei Province are requested to fill up the form available at NOTICE FOR NEPALI NATIONALS IN HUBEI PROVINCE and send it to beijing@nepalembassy.org.cn, the notice reads.


The particulars of the chartered flight will be arranged on the basis of submissions made by Nepali nationals willing to go back to Nepal, the embassy stated.

It is learnt that over 150 Nepali nationals, mostly students, are living in various parts of Hubei including Wuhan, the capital which is also the epicenter of coronavirus epidemic.
