MYAGDI, Dec 20: A Nepali immigrant in New Zealand has set up a revolving fund worth Rs 2.5 million in a bid to provide financial help for those hard working children from poor economic background studying in local Dhaulagiri Secondary School, Singa.

Lal Bahadur KC, who is running his business in New Zealand, has established the fund in the name of his 99-year-old grandmother Gautami KC. Poor students will be provided with financial help from the interest earned on the amount deposited into the fund.

Besides, KC, who is a former student at the school, also donated Rs 200,000 earlier to those students with hearing problems pursuing education at the school.

A campaign has been launched to collect donation as the school is running technical classes as well, said the school management committee chairman Bhagawan Khadka.

The school is recently upgraded to higher secondary level and a total 250 secondary level students are studying. RSS
