Nepali envoy pays a courtesy call on Pak PM Khan

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari called on Prime Minister of Pakistan Imaran Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Ambassador Adhikari expressed that the bilateral relationships between Nepal and Pakistan have always been cordial based on goodwill, mutual trust and cooperation. He further said that both the countries are founding members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and hold similar views on SAARC, United Nations and other important international forums, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad.

Ambassador Adhikari further expressed Nepal’s desire for a deeper relationship with Pakistan and said he would make sincere efforts to further enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan. Ambassador Adhikari briefed the recent political development and covid-19 situation in Nepal to the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He also thanked the Government and the people of Pakistan for their continued support to Nepal and in particular recent material and financial support to Nepal to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Ambassador Adhikari also appreciated Prime Minister Khan for his vision to promote tourism in Pakistan and shared Nepal’s interest to work with Pakistan to promote tourism since both countries have high potentiality of cultural and adventure tourism.

While recalling his personal visit to Nepal before joining politics, Prime Minister Khan said that Pakistan is always ready to work with Nepal to further promote bilateral relations between our two countries. During the call on, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and high official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan were present.
