KATHMANDU, April 16: The main opposition Nepali Congress announced on Tuesday that it will hold public awareness campaigns across the country in coming months.

During a press conference held at the party headquarters, party spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma said that the party will conduct public awareness campaign called “Himal Pahad Terai Madhes, Nepali Congress” in three phases.  

“In the first phase, we will run public awareness campaign from April 24 to May 24 and the key leaders of the party will address assemblies in various districts,” Sharma said.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba will launch the first phase of public awareness campaign in Kathmandu.

The second phase of the campaign will run from September 10 to September 24 at the provincial level. Likewise, the third phase of public awareness campaign will run from coming December 23 to Jan 1.

The party will also distribute its ordinary memberships in course of public awareness campaigns.

“We will also expose the government’s wrongdoings during the public awareness campaigns,” he said.

Vice presidents Bimalendra Nidhi and Bijaya Gachchhadar, General Secretary Sashanka Koirala, Deputy General Secretary Prakash Sharan Mahat and Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav attended the press conference.
