KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The Nepali Army has clinched its fifth gold medal at the prestigious Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026 in the United Kingdom, outshining 130 military teams from 35 countries.
Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, who is on an official visit to the UK, attended the medal ceremony, according to the Nepali Army.

Held in Brecon, Wales, on October 7 and 8, the demanding exercise required teams to cover 40 miles within two days while carrying around 70 pounds of military equipment.
The competition tested participants on a range of military skills, including weapon handling, tactical information gathering, and the rescue and management of wounded and sick personnel on the battlefield.
The Nepali Army has been participating in the annual exercise since 2014. It previously won gold medals in 2017, 2019, 2024 and 2025, adding another to its tally with this year's victory.
