Nepal wins by 140 runs against Thailand, Karan KC shines

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Nepali cricket team won by 140 runs as per D/L method against Thailand in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B at Kuala Lumpur.

Nepal had set the target of 173 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. Thailand scored only 18 runs in 8.5 overs losing nine wickets. 

Karan KC 40*, Sarad Veswkar 34, Dipendra Singh Airee 30, Anil Kumar Shah 25, Binod Bhandari 15, Aarif Sheikh 8, Gyanendra Malla 7, Paras Khadka(C) 5, and Sompal Kami 4*, scored runs for Nepali cricket team.

Payuputh Sungnard took four, Vichanath Singh two and Ziaul Hoque one wicket respectively for the Thai side.

In bowling, Sandeep Lamichhane took five, Karan Kc two and Lalit Rajbanshi one wicket to win the game for Nepal. 

Similarly, no batsmen scored double score runs for Thailand. 

Nepal sits at the top position with six points winning all three games. 

Karan KC was awarded man of the match.
