Nepal voices concerns over escalating Indo-Pak tension

KATHMANDU, May 9: The Government of Nepal has raised concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.


After a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22, which killed 26 Indian tourists and one Nepali citizen, Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday highlighting the growing strain between the two nations. The ministry expressed Nepal's solidarity with India during this tragic time and reaffirmed the shared grief between both countries.

Nepal swiftly and unequivocally condemned the brutal terrorist attack, aligning with its firm position against all forms of terrorism. "Nepal stands with all parties in the fight against terrorism. In line with our principled stance, we will not allow any hostile forces to use our territory against our neighboring countries," the ministry stated.


The ministry also urged both nations to reduce tensions and reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to lasting peace and stability in the region.
