KATHMANDU, April 3: Nepal Tourism Promotion (NTP) Multimedia Group, along with the support of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), is going to organize Nepal Tourism Festival in Basantpur, Kathmandu on the occasion of Nepal New Year. The festival will be held on April 14-15.
The organizers said since tourism is the main basis of Nepal's economic prosperity and to achieve Nepal's economic prosperity through tourism it is necessary to increase the policy debate and discussion of tourism. Preparations are underway to declare Baisakh 1– the first day of Nepali New Year– as Domestic Tourism Day from New Year 2080 BS on the occasion of the first festival.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will inaugurate the festival. According to the organizers, 10 to 15 sessions will be conducted in this festival, which will have interesting, thought-provoking and special debates and discussions on education, health, agriculture, sports and political issues connected with tourism. The main goal of this festival is to promote the internal and external tourism of Nepal and discuss the policy of tourism.

The opening session of the festival will be addressed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The last session will be 'Politics in Tourism: Mission, Vision and Visit Nepal' by Tourism Minister Sudan Kiranti. In the festival, sessions will be conducted focusing on different types of tourism.
Other sessions will be 'Tourism Promotion and Infrastructure Development', 'Health Tourism - Health Analogy and World', 'Film Tourism: Scenes, Cinema and Celebrity'. Sessions on 'Commercial Tourism: Desire, Cities and Tourism Markets', 'Impact of Climate Change on Tourism: Snowy Mountains and Himalayas' will also be conducted.
Similarly, sessions on 'Young Tourism Entrepreneurs: Travelers and Explorers', 'Tourism of Seven Provinces: Prospects and Challenges', 'Heritage Tourism: Kathmandu Valley and World Heritage', 'Airlines Tourism: Flight, Aviation and Nepali Sky' will also be conducted.
Likewise, preparations are underway to conduct sessions on 'Nepal Experience', 'Sports Tourism - Sports, Athletes and Gorkhali' and 'Art Tourism: Music, Beauty and Golden Nepal' and 'Agricultural Tourism: Soil, Path and Water' involving ambassadors from various countries.
Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents, Hotel Association Nepal, Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal and other agencies have collaborated with NTB for the festival.
