Nepal to face India in first SAFF Women’s U-15 match

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has unveiled the match schedule for the SAFF Women’s U-15 Championship to be held in Bhutan, on Friday. 


According to the schedule, Nepal will play against India in its first match of the tournament on October 9.

The tournament, which has only one group featuring the host Bhutan and Bangladesh, will be played at the Changlimithang Stadium in Bhutan.  Nepal will take on Bangladesh in its second match on October 11. After two days, it will face the host Bhutan in its last match. 


The top two teams of the lone group will vie against each other in the final of the tournament which will be played in round robin league format.  


Only four teams are taking part in the tournament which is set to be held in Bhutan for the second straight time. 


A total of seven nations participated in the second edition of the South Asian tournament, while four teams contested in the first edition held in Bangladesh. Nepal had finished fourth in both the editions.
