KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Nepal lost to Hong Kong by three wickets in the Asia Qualifiers played at UKM-YSD Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia on Tuesday.
Chasing a 96-run target set by Nepal, Hong Kong was able to reach it in 32.3 overs losing seven wickets.
Malaysian batsman Anshy Rath scored highest 52 runs including one six and three fours off 82 balls, Kinchit Shah made 11 runs including one four off 39 balls while the other batsmen could not double digits.
In reply Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane claimed highest five wickets giving away 27 runs in 10 overs while Basanta Regmi and Sagar Pun took one wicket each.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal scored 96 runs in 37.5 overs losing all wickets.
Aarif Sheikh made highest 18 runs including two fours off 42 balls, Basanta Regmi and AK Shah contributed 15 runs each off 42 balls each. Similarly,
Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla contributed 14 and 12 runs respectively.
