KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Nepal has made a winning start in its first international series, International Women’s Blind Cricket Series, defeating Pakistan by 10 wickets in Lahore on Tuesday.
With the win, Nepal has taken 1-0 lead in the five-day series.
At the Kinnard Daklej Cricket Ground, Pakistan was all out for 53 runs. Nepal completed the chase scoring 54 runs in 5.3 overs without the loss of a single wicket.
Binita Budathoki started Nepal’s innings hitting three boundaries in three balls and Nepal made 20 runs in the first over. Binita went on to score the highest 28 for Nepal with five fours in 19 balls.
Kiran Rafique of Pakistan hit nine runs, but four other players could not get a run. Pakistan got 16 runs for extras.
Sarita Ghimire and Bhagwati Amgai took a wicket each. Eight Pakistani players were run out. Wicket-keeper batsman Mankesi Chaudhary and Ghimire ran out four players each.
Nepal will now play Pakistan in the second match of the series on Thursday. All the remaining matches are set to be played in Faisalabad.
