KATHMANDU, April 2: Nepal has given a target of 157 runs for Baroda in the ongoing SMS Friendship T-20 series Cup.


Asked to bat after losing the toss, Nepal posted a total of 156 runs, losing 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Kushal Malla of Nepal emerged as the top scorer, contributing 40 runs off 25 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Dipendra Singh Airee remained not out with 5 runs.

Sandeep Jora added 29 runs in 16 balls, featuring 2 fours and a six. The partnership between Sandeep Jora and Kushal Bhurtel, which yielded 47 runs off 29 balls for the sixth wicket, propelled Nepal to 82-5 in 12.5 overs.


Nepal's openers, Aasif Shaikh and Kushal Bhurtel, were dismissed for 9 runs each. Anil Kumar Shah contributed 25 runs from 27 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six. Captain Rohit Poudel scored 18 runs off 13 balls, comprising 3 fours, while Gulshan Jha added 13 runs.


Baroda's Baba Khan claimed 2 wickets, while Mohit Mongia and Parikshit Patidar took one wicket each. Nepal secured a victory against Gujarat by 8 wickets in their previous match, while Gujarat defeated Baroda by 5 wickets.
