Nepal sees highest single-day COVID-19 recovery of 5,699 on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: A total of 5,699 persons who had earlier tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recovered in the past one day, the Ministry of Health and Population said in its daily COVID-19 update.

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: A total of 5,699 persons who had earlier tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recovered in the past one day, the Ministry of Health and Population said in its daily COVID-19 update.


This is the highest single-day recovery from the viral infection in the country. With this, the number of people discharged after recovery from COVID-19 in Nepal has soared to 199,024.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections has reached 220,308, with 1,669 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, the ministry said. Eight thousand thirty-two people underwent PCR tests in the past one day.


In the Kathmandu Valley alone, 957 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the past one day.


The country's coronavirus-related death toll has risen to 1,321 with 16 new deaths linked with COVID-19 recorded in the past one day.


There are currently 19,963 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.
