KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Nepal has sought Bailey bridges from India, China and other countries as emergency assistance to restore road connectivity disrupted by Wednesday’s devastating floods in Rasuwa.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has written to the governments of India and China requesting the bridges, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The decision followed consultations with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and security agencies, which identified Bailey bridges as an immediate need for relief and rescue operations.
The floods damaged or swept away 41 bridges, including the bridge at Rasuwagadhi, a key link with China, and several bridges over the Trishuli River in Nuwakot. The damage has disrupted road connections to Dhading, Rasuwa, Nuwakot and other affected areas.
