KATHMANDU, Aug 17: With 581 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the past 24 hours, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has reached 27, 241.
At a virtual media briefing, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Jageshwar Gautam shared that 581 persons were found infected with COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.
A total of 11,520 persons underwent PCR tests at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours, Gautam said.
According to Gautam, 159 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery from various isolation centers across the country in the past 24 hours.
As of today, 17,495 persons have been recovered from the novel coronavirus disease in the country.
Likewise, one person each from Rautahat, Morang, and Kathmandu died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the spokesperson said.
"With this, the country's coronavirus death toll has risen to 107," Gautam added.
