Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload goes past 90,000; recovery rate 74.3 percent, death rate 0.61 percent

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Nepal on Tuesday confirmed 1,551 new cases of the coronavirus infection, reported the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the total number of infections has climbed to 90,814 which includes 22,709 active cases.

As many as 67,542 COVID-19 patients or 74.37 percent of the total cases have so far won their battle against this viral infection while 563 have died of the disease. Nepal reported 2,340 recoveries and nine fatalities in the past 24 hours.

According to the daily COVID-19 updates released by the ministry, seven districts across the country – Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan and Rupandehi – have more than 500 active cases each while five others – Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Rukum (East) and Dolpa – currently have no case of this disease.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed as many as 1,017 cases on Tuesday alone.
