Nepal requests Indians investors to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU, August 19: The government and the private sector have urged Indian investors to invest in Nepal.

This request was made in an interaction with the officials of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industries who came to visit Nepal from Odisha, India. Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu said that the government has made legal and procedural reforms for ease of investment.

He said that the budget of the current financial year reduced the limit of foreign direct investment from 50 million to 20 million and adopted a one-door policy. He urged Indian investors to invest in Nepal, saying that India and China are major markets for investment in Nepal.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Acting President of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that India has political, social, cultural and economic relations with Nepal and that Indian investors can invest in Nepal confidently. He said that Nepal is an important investment destination for Indian investors.
