Nepal reports 10th COVID-19 death

KATHMANDU, June 4: Nepal on Thursday reported one more COVID-19 death, taking the number of people dying of coronavirus to 10. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a 45-year-old man from Palpa district succumbed to this viral disease earlier on June 2.

The man from Purbakhola Rural Municipality, Siluwa, had returned home from India some five days ago and had been staying at a quarantine facility set up in his village. He was rushed to Tansen-based United Mission Hospital after having breathing difficulties. The man breathed his last some three days later in course of treatment. 

His swab samples, collected after his death, tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, according to Dr Bikash Devkota, the spokesperson for the ministry.

As of Thursday afternoon, 2634 cases have been confirmed including 290 recoveries.
