Nepal registers second win

KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepal registered second win in as many matches in ongoing ACC U 19 Elite Cup, defeating Qatar by nine wickets, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.



Winning the toss and electing to bat first in Bayuemas Oval, Qatar was all out for 93 run in 36.3 overs. In reply, Nepal overcame the target for the loss of one wicket in just 10.5 overs. [break]



Man of the match Amrit Shresha hammered a blistering 70 off just 33 balls with eleven fours and a six while sharing an opening partnership of 56 with Nischal Pandey who made 12 off 26 balls, including a four, before being out off Uzair Amir bowling.



Harishankar Shah ( 8 off 7 balls) was the other batsman not out. Earlier Avinash Karn took four wickets and Sushant Bhari claimed two to restrict Qatar innings to a small total. Bhuwan Karki and Nischal Pandey grabbed one wicket apiece.



For the losing side, Uzair Amir topscored with 24 off 67 balls with two fours, while Abdullah Mohamad (16), S Shah (14) and Jahagir Eshan (12) were the other major contributors.Nepal had defeated Kuwait by 84 runs on Friday. Nepal will take on Bahrain on Monday.
