KATHMANDU, June 18: Nepal recorded highest single-day spike with 671 cases of coronavirus on Thursday.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases jumped to 7848, according to Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population.
"671 persons tested positive for coronavirus during tests conducted at various health facilities across the country in the past 24 hours," Gautam told a daily media briefing this afternoon.
The spokesperson informed that 19 persons who earlier tested positive for coronavirus were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. "With this, a total of 1186 COVID-19 patients have returned home after recovery as of today," he said.
Likewise, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has risen to 22 with two fatalities in the past 24 hours, he said.
