Nepal records 836 new cases, 1,823 recoveries and four deaths on Saturday

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal recorded 836 new cases of COVID-19 along with 1,823 recoveries and four deaths linked to the virus on Saturday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). 

As many as 6,654 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 491 PCR and 345 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 26,336 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 25,141 are in home isolation, 961 in institutional isolation, 200 in ICU’s and 34 on ventilators. Similarly, 118 are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,882 people have died from the virus across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 207 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 166 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 10 in Bhaktapur, and 31 in Lalitpur districts.
