COVID-19 cases doubling every week
KATHMANDU, May 9: Nepal recorded as many as 8,850 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 8,777 people tested positive for COVID-19 through PCR tests and 73 through antigen tests.

Similarly, 4,422 COVID-19 patients recovered in the past 24 hours taking Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate to 76.7 percent.
Also, in the past 24 hours, the health ministry recorded 88 death cases related to COVID-19.
There are currently 88,160 active cases of COVID-19 in Nepal. Of them, 81,430 are in home isolation and 6,730 in institutional isolations.
Likewise, 832 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in ICUs and 267 are on ventilators.
According to the health ministry, COVID-19 cases in Nepal have increased 90.4 percent. This is almost double than last week.
