Nepal records 679 new cases, 1405 recoveries and seven deaths on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: As many as 1,405 people recovered from COVID-19 on Sunday, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population. Similarly, Nepal recorded 679 new cases of COVID-19 and seven deaths from the deadly virus on the same day.

There are currently 17,245 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 15,534 are in home isolation, 1,270 in institutional isolation, 337 in ICUs and 104 on ventilators. Similarly, 246 people are currently in quarantine facilities.

As many as 10,920 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Sunday. Of them, 7070 were tested through the PCR method while 3,850 with antigen tests.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 255 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 222 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 13 in Bhaktapur and 20 in Lalitpur districts.
