Nepal records 634 cases, 417 recoveries and one death on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, August 23: According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal registered 634 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, along with 417 recoveries and one death from the virus.

As many as 4,949 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 343 PCR and 291 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

Across the nation, there are now 4,276 active cases of COVID-19. Of them, 4,044 are isolated by themselves, 177 are in institutional isolation, 52 are in intensive care units, and three are on ventilators. So far, 11,994 people have died of the viral disease nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 251 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of them, 199 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 13 in Bhaktapur, and 39 in Lalitpur districts.
