Nepal records 3,938 new cases, 2,012 recoveries and 37 deaths

KATHMANDU, August 5: Nepal on Thursday recorded 3,938 new cases of COVID-19 along with 2,021 recoveries and 37 deaths.

KATHMANDU, August 5: Nepal on Thursday recorded 3,938 new cases of COVID-19 along with 2,021 recoveries and 37 deaths.


According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 18,408 tests – 6,538 PCR and 11,870 antigen tests – were conducted on Thursday. Of them, 931 PCR and 3,007 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.

The country also recorded 37 deaths due to COVID-19 on the same day. There are 34,422 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Thursday afternoon.


Similarly, 31,108 COVID-19 patients are currently in home isolation, 3,314 in institutional isolation, 713 in ICUs and 158 are on ventilators.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,075 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 766 were detected in Kathmandu, 146 in Bhaktapur and 163 in Lalitpur districts.
