Nepal records 3,260 new cases, 2,294 recoveries and 32 deaths on Thursday

KATHMANDU, August 12: Nepal recorded 3,260 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 2,294 recoveries and 32 deaths. 

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 15,462 tests were conducted on Thursday. Of them, 2,473 PCR tests and 787 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.

There are currently 38,180 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 34,838 are in home isolation, 3,342 in institutional isolation, 737 in ICUs and 183 on ventilators as of Thursday afternoon.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,133 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 811 were detected in Kathmandu, 130 in Bhaktapur and 192 in Lalitpur districts.
