KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Nepal recorded 290 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 232 recoveries and three deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 17,089 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 252 PCR and 38 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,362 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,993 are in home isolation, 249 in institutional isolation, 95 in ICUs, and 25 on ventilators. Similarly, 95 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,577 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 146 cases of the virus on Tuesday. Of them, 90 were recorded in Kathmandu, 18 in Bhaktapur, and 38 in Lalitpur districts.
