KATHMANDU, August 21: Nepal recorded 283 new cases of COVID-19 along with 479 recoveries and zero death from the deadly virus on Sunday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 3,423 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 202 PCR and 84 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
38 new cases of coronavirus traced on Saturday
There are currently 4,407 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,155 are in self-isolation, 196 in institutional isolation, 51 in ICUs and five on ventilators. So far, 11,992 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 136 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Of them, 116 cases were recorded in Kathmandu,eight in Bhaktapur, and 12 in Lalitpur districts.
