KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Nepal recorded 274 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 270 recoveries and three deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 9,016 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 269 PCR and five antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,651 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,247 are in home isolation, 275 in institutional isolation, 104 in ICUs, and 25 on ventilators. Similarly, 98 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,570 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 161 cases of the virus on Friday. Of them, 111 were recorded in Kathmandu, 20 in Bhaktapur, and 30 in Lalitpur districts.
