Nepal records 224 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, July 31: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said that 224 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the past 24 hours.


With 224 new cases today, the country's COVID-19 tally has jumped to 19,771, according to MoHP spokesperson Jageshwar Gautam.


At a daily media briefing, Gautam shared that 151 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 were discharged from various isolation centers across the country after recovery in the past 24 hours.

"With new cases of recovery today, the country's COVID-19 recovery tally has climbed to 14, 399," he said.


There are currently 5,316 active cases of coronavirus across the country.


Gautam also shared that the country's coronavirus death toll has reached 56 with four more deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.
