Nepal records 2,398 new cases as 2,078 recover, 12 die on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, July 13: Nepal recorded 2,398 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

Likewise, 2,078 COVID-19 patients recovered while 12 others succumbed to the disease.

As many as 7,058 PCR tests and 3,954 antigen tests were conducted on Tuesday. Of them, 1,639 PCR and 759 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.

So far, 9,412 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Nepal.

There are currently 26,539 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,722 in institutional isolation, 583 in ICUs and 182 on ventilators across the country as of Tuesday afternoon.

Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 587  new cases on Tuesday. Of them, 410 were detected in Kathmandu, 80 in Bhaktapur and 97 in Lalitpur districts.
