KATHMANDU, March 8: Nepal recorded 194 new cases of COVID-19 along with 348 recoveries and one death from the deadly virus on Tuesday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 6,394 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 74 PCR and 120 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
There are currently 5,922 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,745 are in self-isolation, 130 in institutional isolation, 42 in ICU’s and five on ventilators. Similarly, 110 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,949 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 23 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 16 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, zero in Bhaktapur, and seven in Lalitpur districts.
