KATHMANDU, July 18: Superb knock of Nepal's top-order batsmen helped the mational cricket team, which is on England tour, record 181 runs win over Eastbourne Cricket Club in a 50-over match at the Eastbourne Saffrons Sports Club on Sunday.
Nepal, opting to bat first, put 300/3 in the allotted overs after Binod Bhandari remained not out on 77 runs and Anil Kumar Mandal contributed 73 runs.
Binod cracked 12 fours facing 53 balls, while Anil hit seven fours playing 110 balls.
Similarly, Sharad Vesawkar (60 off 57) and Raju Rijal (unbeaten 60 off 67) were also major run scorers for Nepal, which had rested skipper Paras Khadka and Vice-captain Gyanendra Malla.
In reply, Eastbourne was bowled out for 119 runs in 34.3 overs by the discipline bowling of Nepal.
Sompal Kami bagged highest three wickets in 6 overs conceding only 14 runs.
Basant Regmi and Sagar Pun pocketed two wickets each.
Basant gave away only 31 runs in 10 overs, while Sagar conceded 21 runs in 6.3 overs.
Bikram Sob and Shakti Gauchan picked up a wicket each.
Rawlins top scored 44 runs off 42 balls for the home team.
Nepal will face Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord's Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
