KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Nepal registered 179 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, along with 171 recoveries and one death from the virus, According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 4,959 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Of them, 127 PCR and 52 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

Across the nation, there are now 2,286 active cases of COVID-19. Of them, 2,190 are isolated by themselves, 81 are in institutional isolation and 15 are in intensive care units. So far, 12,015 people have died of the viral disease nationwide.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 75 cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Of them, 50 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, seven in Bhaktapur, and 18 in Lalitpur districts.
