KATHMANDU, July 23: As many as 147 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said on Thursday afternoon.
At a virtual press briefing, spokesperson for the MoHP, Jageshwar Gautam said that 147 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed during 3,481 PCR tests conducted at various 25 laboratories across the country in the past 24 hours. "With new cases, the country's COVID-19 tally has climbed to 18, 241," Gautam said.

Likewise, 156 persons, who earlier tested positive for COVID-19, were discharged after recovery from various isolation centers across the country. "As of today, 12,840 COVID-19 patients have been discharged after recovery across the country," spokesperson Gautam said.
According to the spokesperson, 43 persons succumbed to the coronavirus infection in Nepal so far.
"20,098 persons are in various quarantine facilities across the country," he said.
