Nepal records 1,801 new cases, 1,924 recoveries and 24 deaths on Monday

KATHMANDU, August 23: As many as 11,326 tests were conducted on Monday and of them 1,801 tested positive for the COVID-19 infection, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). 

Nepal recorded 1,801 new cases of COVID-19 along with 1,924 recoveries and 24 deaths due to COVID-19 on Monday. 

With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 casetally has reached 829,443 including 700,097 recoveries and 10,533 deaths.

As many as 8,704 PCR tests and 2,622 antigen tests were conducted on Monday, according to the MoHP.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 708 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 441 were detected in Kathmandu, 100 in Bhaktapur and 167 in Lalitpur districts.

There are currently 38,351 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Tuesday afternoon.
