Nepal records 1,511 cases, 11 deaths on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal recorded 1,511 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths due to the virus on Thursday, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 15,179 samples were tested - 11,208 samples through the RT-PCR method and 3,971 samples through the antigen method.

The health ministry, updating the statistics of COVID-19 cases, said that there are 25,772 active cases in the country as of Thursday.

Meanwhile, 1,689 people recovered from COVID-19 and were discharged from various hospitals across the country on Thursday.

Currently, 407 people are being treated at intensive care units (ICU) and 128 are on ventilators. Of the active cases, 24,222 have isolated themselves at their homes after testing positive for COVID-19 while 1,550 people are staying isolated at various health institutions as of Friday, according to the data provided by MoHP. Similarly, a total of 220 people are in quarantine facilities.
