KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Nepal recorded 1,386 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 8,704 recoveries and 11 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 9,251 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 1,183 PCR and 203 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 45,563 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 43,932 are in self-isolation, 1,316 in institutional isolation, 269 in ICUs, and 46 on ventilators. Similarly, 137 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,814 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 566 cases of the virus on Sunday. Of them, 410 were recorded in Kathmandu, 32 in Bhaktapur, and 124 in Lalitpur districts.
