Nepal records 1,170 new cases, 15 new fatalities attributed to coronavirus in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Ministry of Health and Population has said that 1,170 fresh cases of coronavirus and 15 fatalities attributed to the virus were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours, taking Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally to 55,329.

At a virtual press briefing, Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry, said that 1,170 cases were detected through 10,878 PCR tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

The Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 512 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

According to Gautam, 879 COVID-19 infected people were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. “With this, the number of people to be discharged after recovery has risen to 39,576,” he said.

There are currently 15,393 active cases of coronavirus in the country.

With 15 more people dying of coronavirus in various parts of the country in the past 24 hours, Nepal’s coronavirus death toll has jumped to 360, according to Spokesperson Gautam.
