Nepal recorded 5,727 new COVID-19 cases, 33 deaths, 928 recoveries in past 24 hours

2,956 new cases detected in the Kathmandu Valley alone

KATHMANDU, April 30: Nepal recorded as many as 5,727 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Likewise, 928 people who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 recovered and 33 COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

In the past 24 hours, 15,319 PCR tests and 525 antigen tests were conducted across the country of which 5,657 PCR tests and 70 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.

With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally now stands at 323,187. So far, 281,095 COVID-19 patients have recovered which accounts for 86.9 percent of the total cases in the country.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,956 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. It is 51.62 percent of the total cases of COVID-19 detected across the country in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu recorded 2,404 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday while the number was 133 in Bhaktapur and 419 in Lalitpur.

There are 311 COVID-19 patients in ICU and 115 on ventilators across the country as of Friday afternoon.
