Nepal reaches second stage of U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers

KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepal defeated the Northern Mariana Islands 6-0 in the AFC Under-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifier.

Nepal defeated Northern Mariana Islands by 6-0 in the match held at Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium.

In this match, Deepa Shahi scored four goals and Garima Rai scored two goals for Nepal. With this victory, Nepal, which is in Group B, has been selected for the second round with six points in two matches.

Earlier, in the match held last Wednesday, Nepal defeated Palestine by 6-0 goals at their home.

The second phase will be held from June 3 to June 11. The best four teams from this stage will play in the Under-20 Women's Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.

The winning teams of eight groups from the first stage will go to the second stage. In the second stage, eight teams will be divided into two groups.

The best four teams from the second round will play in the Under-20 Women's Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.

The AFC Under-20 Women's Asian Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from March 3 to March 16, 2024. For this competition, the top three teams of the competition held in 2019 along with the host country Uzbekistan have been automatically selected.

Japan, the winner of the last edition, along with Uzbekistan, North Korea, which came second, and South Korea, which came third, have been directly selected.
