Nepal Police Club thrashes APF by eight wickets to lift Mayor’s Cup

KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepal Police Club (NPC) bagged the Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup 2021, thrashing the Armed Police Force (APF) team in the final match played at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepal Police Club (NPC) bagged the Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup 2021, thrashing the Armed Police Force (APF) team in the final match played at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu on Saturday.


NPC, which remained dominant throughout the match, restricted the APF to 105 runs. The APF lost all its wickets in just 29.4 overs. Earlier, the APF won the toss and opted to bat first.

Basanta Regmi (22) was the highest scorer for the APF followed by Sandeep Jora  and Amar Routela contributing 18 runs each. NPC’s Gulsan Jha and Sagar Dhakal claimed five APF wickets each.


Chasing the meager target of 106, the NPC lost two wickets --- Kushal Bhurtel (15) and Anil Shah (15). With Sunil Dhamal’s unbeaten 59 runs off 82 balls, the police club reached the target in the 25th over with 155 balls remaining. APF’s Bhuwan Karki and Abhinash Bohora took one wicket each.
