JANAKPUR, Aug 22: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has stated that Nepal Police Act, 1995 has been old and needs timely amendments.
In a brief conversation with journalists at Janakpur Airport on Thursday morning, he informed them that a law on reforming the organizational structure of Nepal Police will be issued very soon.

"The Nepal Police Act is 69 years old; it needs timely amendments. The police should be made more professional by creating new laws and increasing organizational capacity. After amending the Nepal Police Act, it has reached the Ministry of Finance for budget management, he said.
Lekhak also claimed that the present government has been formed with the aim of achieving political stability, sustainable development, good governance promotion and economic prosperity in the country. He emphasized that the cooperation of all the mechanisms of the state as well as every section of society is indispensable to fulfill these goals.
