KATHMANDU, Dec 21: A ten-day Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament was concluded in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Paanch Pokhari Cricket Club won the tournament while Royal Indoor Cricket Club became the runner-up, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of Pakistan on Friday.

A total of 16 Nepali cricket clubs participated in the cricket tournament that started on December 12. This is the fourth time the Embassy of Pakistan organized the annual event.

Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina gave away the prizes to the winners of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament amid a special function in the capital.

Addressing the event, Timilsina lauded the efforts of the embassy in organizing this annual event and pointed out to the huge potential to develop bilateral relations between Pakistan and Nepal through organizing such sports events.

On the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal Mazhar Javed vowed to further energize the embassy’s efforts to bring the youths of two countries closer together. This, he said, was an important pillar of the people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Nepal.

Secretary at the Sports Ministry Mohan Krishna Sapkota was the special guest of the event.
