KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepal has clinched the title of the Asian Cricket Asian (ACC) Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup cricket tournament. In a competitive final held on Saturday at the UKM YSD Oval in Malaysia, Nepal defeated Singapore by two wickets to secure the championship.
The final match, held in Malaysia, saw Nepal chasing a modest target of 114 runs. However, the chase turned into a tense battle, with Nepal reaching the target only on the last ball of the 29th over, thanks to a match-winning six by Abhay Yadav.

Earlier, Nepal lost the toss to Singapore and were invited for fielding. The Nepali bowlers put on a brilliant performance, bundling out Singapore for just 113 runs in 41 overs. Nepal’s batting, however, also faced difficulties, losing eight wickets in the chase. In the end, Nepal narrowly avoided defeat and secured victory.
This is Nepal’s second consecutive ACC U-16 East Zone Cup title win.
