KATHMANDU, Dec 18: A total of 12 countries participated in the three-day-long International Cultural Summit that concluded at the premises of Hotel Yak and Yeti on Saturday. The summit, organized by ACCAC Nepal, was inaugurated by Vice President, Nanda Bahadur Pun.

As the event was organized with an aim to exchange Nepali art and culture with other countries, ‘Easy Access of Art and Culture’ was the main theme of the event. Cultural experts, artists and researchers of various countries participated in the event. The participants were from Finland, Egypt, Korea, Belgium, Germany, Singapore, Sweden, Morocco and Switzerland.

Speaking at the event, coordinator of the summit, Shyam Bahadur Acharya stated that the event has played important role to promote Nepali art and culture in international level. “We can easily promote the country through art and culture. I am sure this program has helped to hike Nepali art,” he said.

According to him Nepali culture is unique from the rest of the world and if we become able to promote this globally, that will definitely help to uplift our cultural identity. Promoting tourism through art is another objective of the summit. The Goodwill Ambassador of the organization informed, “Although we can provide visible benefits for the tourism of the country through art, government is not aware about it. Hence we, civilians, should work on our own to uplift it.”

During the event, Nepali handicraft products were exhibited. Traditional dance forms on the verge of extinction were staged. Likewise, an interaction program with international members was also organized. President of the organization, Sushil Phuyal stated that the event was organized with a view of building easy access to art for all.
