KATHMANDU, June 8: Nepal Government Employees’ Organization (NGEO) is going to hold a National Women Assembly in Kathmandu on June 10 and June 11.
The second national assembly of women is being organized under the organization of Nepal Government Employees’ Organization Central Working Committee and under the management of Central Department of Women with the main slogan of 'Equity and Empowerment: Fairness in Service'.
NGEO Chairman Lekhnath Koirala said that around 500 representatives from all over the country will attend the assembly. He informed that the gathering will be inaugurated by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
Koirala also said that women members of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will also be present at the meeting. The situation of women in political leadership, those reaching higher positions in government bodies and the presence of women in public administration, problems, and future goals, among other issues, will be discussed and debated during the meeting. Participants will also come from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and other countries, according to the organizer.
