KATHMANDU, June 12: Nepal has been placed in Group A in the ACC U-19 Eastern Region Tournament which will run from July 2 to 9 in Malaysia.
As per the fixtures scheduled and unveiled by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Tuesday, defending champion Nepal has been placed with China, Myanmar and Singapore in Group A.
Likewise, Malaysia, Bhutan, Hong Kong and Thailand have been placed in Group B. In the fixtures unveiled on Tuesday, Nepal will start its title defending campaign against Malaysia on July 2.
The host Malaysia will play against Thailand on the same day, while Singapore will face China. Nepal will vie against Singapore in its second match on July 5, while it will go head-to-head against China a day after. The tournament featuring eight teams will be divided into two groups and will be played in league-cum-knockout format. The top two teams of each group will enter the semifinals.
The winner of the tournament will get a chance to take part in the U-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
