Nepal defeats Qatar by 79 runs

KATHMANDU, June 3: The Nepali cricket team has defeated Qatar in the Under-19 Women's T20 Qualification by 79 runs. The Nepali team had given Qatar a target of 118 runs during a match played at the UKM Oval in Malaysia. 

Losing all wickets in the 15.4 over, Qatar scored a total of 38 runs. Captain Saachi Dhadwal and Shrutiben Rana managed to clinch 14 runs each. Nepal's Srishti Jaishi took three wickets against Qatar. Similarly, Anu Kadayat, Kritika Marasini and Sneha Mahara took two wickets each.

Batting first, Nepal lost three wickets in 20 overs to give Qatar a target of 118 runs for the win. For Nepal, Asma Pulami Magar scored 32 runs and Shristi Joshi made 23 without losing wickets. Similarly, Sanu Rajbanshi scored 21, Anjali Bishwokarma scored 11 runs while Kiran Kumari Kunwar hit one run for Nepal. 

Six teams including Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Bhutan, Nepal and Qatar will be playing against each other in the qualifier. The qualifier is being played in Malaysia. Nepal will play its second match against the UAE on Saturday.
