KATHMANDU, Jan 10: The Nepal Council for Standards has approved the quality standards of shoes used in sports.
A meeting presided over by Council Chair and Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal on Tuesday approved the quality standards of shoes (used in the sports sector) prepared by the Nepal Bureau of Standards & Metrology.

The Bureau determines the quality of different goods. With the endorsement of the standards, attention would be paid to the quality of shoes produced in Nepal for sports, said Bureau Spokesperson Jyoti Joshi Bhatta. The quality standards of rubber and clothes used in manufacturing of such shoes were also approved.
The Bureau has further shared that the shoes manufactured maintaining the quality standards can also be exported outside.
